This time next week I am going to be a bundle of excited, and probably nervous, energy. This time next week it will be Marathon Monday Eve. As we all know, this won’t just be another Boston Marathon. This year represents so many things and I am still in disbelief that I am a lucky one who gets to be a part of it all.
Today was the last weekend long run, 8 miles. I felt great and I think that’s exactly what I needed at this point. Planning to log some low mileage this week. My parents are in town starting Friday and we’ll head to the Expo to get my bib! Saturday morning I’m running in the BAA 5k, the first of my medley races this year (yeah did I mention I also signed up for the BAA Distance Medley, doing the 5k, 10k and half marathon? Go big or go home, right?!) Saturday afternoon we have our Race for Rehab pre-marathon event at the Revere Hotel. Sunday will be a unique Easter full of stretching and thoughtful eating (save the Polish goodies for Monday night!) Monday morning I have to be at Spaulding at 5 am. My parents are super excited about this drop off. Except not really. I told them it was all part of the process and to just enjoy it, though if someone else would like to pick me up at 4:30am to give me the ride I’m sure they’d be happy to stay in bed. Anyways, it’s going to be quite the weekend before the run but I can’t wait! I plan to keep everyone updated with some updates along the way, but definitely with a night before post and then of course a post after I have finished, though admittedly that likely will get done the day after the run.
Stay tuned for info about tracking me on the big day, which I’ll post later this week in the blog and on Facebook. Also, keep the cheerleader pics coming. I plan to put all of them together in one big post on Friday. So far there are some great ones and I’m feeling the love!
8 days to go!!
